Meet Clare
Your advocate, your assessor.
If you’re noticing signs of dyslexia in a young person you care about, I understand how overwhelming that can feel. But you’re in the right place and I’m here to help. As a qualified teacher with an Assessing Practicing Certificate (APC) and an Associate Member of the British Dyslexia Association (AMBDA) with DBS, I’m committed to offering you the support and clarity you need.
My dyslexia assessments are thorough, insightful, and follow SASC guidelines, meaning they can be used as evidence for Disabled Student Allowance. The reports are crafted to shine a light on your child’s strengths while also providing practical guidance for areas where they can grow.
With over ten years of experience working with diverse learners, I deeply value the trusting relationships I build with children and their families. I’m here to walk alongside you on this journey and I believe that with the right support, your child’s learning adventure can be filled with success and growth.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
“We recently had a dyslexia assessment completed for our son age 12 and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. From start to finish the process was extremely professional, well organised and clearly explained.
Clare was warm, patient and very knowledgeable, which immediately put our son at ease. She took the time to build a rapport with him so he felt comfortable and confident throughout the assessment, which made such a difference.
The whole experience felt supportive and positive, and we were really impressed by the care and understanding shown. The report was thorough and incredibly helpful in giving us a clearer understanding of how best to support our son moving forward.
We’re very grateful for the time, professionalism and kindness shown, and would highly recommend Bourne Dyslexia to any family considering a dyslexia assessment.”

Dyslexia Tuition
☻
Step 1:
Connect
The connection between a child and their tutor matters. The first session will be aimed at relationship building through fun, interactive games. This is about starting their learning journey in a supportive environment.
Sessions are engaging, structured, and designed specifically for dyslexic learners, helping children strengthen literacy skills while building confidence.
❋
Step 2:
Profile
If your child has recently had a diagnostic assessment with us, we’ll use this to guide their tutoring. If not, a Learning Profile will be completed during the first session.
This helps identify your child’s strengths and learning needs, allowing us to create a Personalised Learning Plan (PLP) that focuses on the skills that will make the biggest difference.
✦
Step 3:
Sessions
The fun begins! With weekly sessions, we use a multi-sensory, structured, and cumulative approach, based on the science of dyslexic teaching. Sessions are taught by highly skilled dyslexia practitioners who have had training in dyslexia remediation.
Your child will also develop metacognitive skills to enhance their learning. After each session, you'll receive feedback, including photos and progress updates.
Every learner receives a complimentary Multisensory Box, delivered directly to their door, packed with carefully selected resources designed to make learning engaging, interactive and confidence-building.
✿
Step 4:
Review
After 20 hours of sessions, we’ll take a step back, revisit the Learning Profile, and see how far your child has come. We’ll share feedback, celebrate the wins, and keep pushing forward, making sure they’re on track to reach their full potential.
Space for the different kinds of thinkers
Identifying dyslexia early can make a significant difference to a child's confidence, learning and long-term educational outcomes. At Bourne Dyslexia, we provide specialist dyslexia assessments for children, young people and adults, helping families gain a clear understanding of their learning profile and the support that may be beneficial.
Our assessments do more than identify indicators of dyslexia or provide a formal diagnosis. They explore the underlying skills that contribute to reading, spelling, writing, memory and processing, while also highlighting individual strengths. This enables us to provide personalised recommendations that can be shared with families, schools, colleges and tutors to support future learning.
Whether you are concerned about signs of dyslexia, difficulties with literacy, or would simply like greater clarity about your child's learning needs, our assessments are designed to provide practical, evidence-based guidance and next steps.
To begin the process, please reach out and Clare will be in touch to discuss your concerns and the next steps.
Assessments are available in Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch and across Dorset, with virtual assessment options also available for suitable age groups and assessment types throughout the UK..
